Compare Vornado VFAN Alchemy and VFAN Petite Alchemy to find the right vintage-style circulator for your space and style.
Quick answer
Choose the VFAN Alchemy if you want a larger, more powerful circulator with a commanding presence; choose the VFAN Petite Alchemy if you need a compact, space-saving option with the same iconic style.
Size and coverage: bigger isn't always better
The VFAN Alchemy stands 14 inches tall and delivers five speeds with a fully pivoting head, making it a strong choice for medium to large rooms. Its sturdy metal construction and luxurious finishes give it a premium feel that fits a living room or home office.
The VFAN Petite Alchemy, as its name suggests, is a smaller version of the same design. It is ideal for desks, nightstands, or compact spaces where a full-size fan would overwhelm the area. While it may not move as much air as the larger model, it still delivers Vornado's signature circulation in a more petite package.
Design and build: same aesthetic, different footprint
Both fans share the vintage-inspired Alchemy look with metal construction and refined finishes. The VFAN Alchemy makes a bolder design statement and can serve as a focal point in a room. The Petite Alchemy offers the same visual charm but fits more discreetly on a shelf or counter.
If you value the aesthetic equally but have limited surface space, the Petite Alchemy lets you enjoy the style without sacrificing your layout.
How to choose: trade-offs at a glance
- Room size: Choose the VFAN Alchemy for medium to large rooms where its taller profile and pivoting head can circulate air effectively. Choose the Petite Alchemy for small nooks, desks, or bedside tables. Measure your space and consider the fan's footprint before deciding.
- Design statement: If you want the Alchemy look to be a visible design element, the full-size VFAN Alchemy delivers more presence. If you prefer subtlety, the Petite Alchemy blends in without dominating. Think about how the fan fits your decor, not just your cooling needs.
- Portability: The Petite Alchemy is easier to move and store, making it a practical choice for renters or those who like to rearrange. The larger model is more stationary due to its size and weight. Consider how often you'll move the fan between rooms.
